Elias Cohen (Chile, 1973): Theatre Director, Choreographer, Pedagogue, meditator and Interdisciplinary Researcher with a strong base within the Embodied Cognition Theory, Movement Justice for Social Transformation and Transpersonal Psychology. Tireless researcher on issues of interculturality and social welfare applied to people’s daily lives and active collaborator in interdisciplinary teams that seek creativity and inclusion in their perspectives. Director and founder of KiM Theatre & Dance Platform since 2006 (Chile, Bolivia, Germany). His stage works have been presented in South America, Europe and Asia, covering theatre, dance, ethnographic performance, physical theater, site specific, rural theatre and contemporary circus.
As a teacher has created methodologies on integrated theory and practices of performing arts with other sources of knowledge (Eco Phenomenology, Neurosciences and Ethnography). Director of the “Post School of Visual Theater-Dance” program at TanzFabrik, Berlin (Germany) between 2009 and 2012. During 2017-18 was guiding the research “Enactive Presence” based on embodied cognition practices for Performers as Researchers (funded by Finis Terra University, Chile). Currently, Elias is living in Aotearoa New Zeland with his family.
