“Enactive Presence Lab: Experiential Methodology on Embodied Cognition for Actors and Dancers as Researchers” is a documentary based on Applied Theatre/Dance and Cognitive Science Studies.
The investigation was guided by Elias Cohen (theatre director, dancer and movement researcher) and Hernán Diaz as co-researcher (neurobiologist and animal behavioral expert). This research was financed by Finis Terrae University (Chile) CAI Funds 2018. The main purpose of the Enactive Presence Lab is to establish concrete practices to situate actors and dancers as researchers through updated ways of generating reflective theory with experiential base. The Enactive Presence Lab dialogues with other sources of knowledge such as applied neurosciences, transpersonal psychology, sports sciences, and contemplative sciences among others to put the actor-dancer as a future researcher and generator of knowledge based on the first-person experience in interaction with other sources of knowledge. The research was supported with measurement and check-up of data that emerged from the performing practices through EEG technology, which can measure brain activity such as brain waves and quantify the results of subjective experiences of the performers brought into a quantitative measurement.
